Review : The Balm Bahama Mama & The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer
Highlighting and contouring. 2 things that I have never done in my make up routine 3 months prior. However, I have always been fascinated with the highlight and contour look. I especially liked how Claire from ohhaiclare does her contouring. But of course her colouring is way off from mine. :p
So I decided to give it a try and got The Balm's Bahama Mama Bronzer and the Mary-Lou Manizer highlighter.
The Mary-Lou Manizer, I love! At first, I was worried if it would look right with my colouring since I am medium skin toned. I didn't want it to come off like I put on glitters and shimmers on my cheekbones. But I love this. The colour is absolutely beautiful. It comes off champagne. Swiping it on my finger it looks very pigmented but when applying on the cheeks and blending it out, it just gives glimpses of glowiness when it hits the light. And I don't just use it for highlighting, I also use it on my eyes. On days when I want to just have a lil' bit of sumthin' sumthin' on my eyes without being too done up.
The Bahama Mama Bronzer, still on the fence about this. To be honest I'm not really sure if I got my contouring technique right for my kind of face. Hopefully it's right. But what I am on the fence is whether the colour is right for me. To me, the colour seems to have a coolness to it so maybe I should get a bronzer with some warmth to it or a golden undertone.
All in all I am loving adding highlights and contours in my make up routine. I only do them when I want the whole done up look though. Other days I'm usually all about less makeup.
