Cami Over Button Down

You would probably have seen the whole cami/slip dress over t-shirt around a lot lately. You're probably sick of it by now! I'm not though, because I did not even have a chance to strut it out until now where the weather has gotten a bit more warmer and I could get away without a coat.

This is my variation to the trend. Instead of the usual t-shirt, I opted for a white button down instead. The button down is slightly more fitted and made out of chiffon-like material making it easy to layer over without looking too bulky.

This might not be exactly the same to the trend but I liked my own twist to it.

Bodysuit for Basics

I read that a bodysuit is a great addition to a staple wardrobe collection. So, I went ahead and added one to my basics. Instead of a black bodysuit, I decided to opt for this beautiful dark green ( I did eventually buy a black one as well! ).

While I love wearing loose tops with a relaxed fit, sometimes wearing loose clothing from top to bottom can do injustice to my petite frame.  This bodysuit comes in handy on days when I feel that a more fitted and streamlined top silhouette would work better for an outfit.

I was worried that I would end up not liking it but I really love it! The wrap design is flattering. I also love the half sleeves and this green hue is a nice change from the usual black.

Plaid Layers

Nothing says comfy weekend outfit than a plaid shirt. Layer up your look with a plaid shirt to keep you comfy for your weekend activities. Bring it up a notch by mixing plaid with another pattern, like this grey spot scarf.

Both these patterns mesh well because it has the same grey undertone. And when it gets just a little bit too warm for the scarf, just wrap/tie the scarf around your bag handles!

Statement Knit Scarf

This has got to be one of my favourite outfit so far for the cold season. The combination of khaki and mustard yellow works perfectly well. On top of that, this knit scarf kept me warm for the day.

I've always worn my scarf the same way all these years. Loop it around once and leave the ends dangling on the side. That was the easiest way to do it. This time around, I tried to break the norm and looped the scarf around multiple times, tucking in the ends.

Instead of a statement necklace, I've got myself a statement knit scarf!

First Sign of Autumn

Pulling out knitwear is the first sign that autumn is really here. Then again, I live in Australia and autumn here does not really feel like autumn. Autumn here can be fickle. One second it's cold and the next it'll be hot. Which is why I can pull off wearing a sleeveless knitwear!

Transitional dressing is still something I have yet to master. However, this sleeveless knitwear seems like the perfect piece to tackle transitional dressing. I better get my wear out of this one because when winter hits, it'll definitely be too cold for me to wear this piece on its own.

Weekend Wardrobe 2015 #34 : Spring Vest

It's been ages since I did a Weekend Wardrobe post!!! Today, I finally managed to get the time and get hubby to take some outfit pictures for me.

We met up with some friends for a picnic and this outfit was perfect for that purpose. Being comfortable meant throwing on jeans and t-shirt. However, the vest brought the outfit up another notch. It wasn't just plain jeans and tee anymore.

Initially, I was going to go for a simple sling bag. But I kept going back to the same sling bags, so I thought I'd use my Mini Kanken as a bag for the day. Why not right? The size is similar to my slings bags, maybe slightly more roomy. It was just the perfect size for a picnic.
