I know the title is a bit of an oxymoron but it would make sense once I explain. Hopefully.

What I am referring to, of course, the statement necklace I'm wearing. Where comes the subtlety, you ask? By wearing it under your top!

I learned this trick from one of Wendy's Lookbook video. She would wear necklaces under her shirt or blouses and I thought it was a brilliant way to tone down a statement necklace. It also adds something unexpected to the outfit.
